I've been a professional game developer since graduating from UC Berkeley with a Computer Science degree in 1999, focusing in engineering and team leadership. In addition to being a key contributor to shipping games for LucasArts, Planet Moon Studios, and Kabam, I co-founded and ran a small game studio called Rogue Rocket Games. I operated as the company and technical leader there, responsible for not only production of games, but business development and company-wide operations. I bring what I've learned from years of software development, team leadership, entrepreneurship and business strategy to technical leadership roles in the games industry.
I'm always pushing myself and ensuring I'm learning, as it's the most important aspect of what I choose to spend time working on. I also deeply care about the products I'm working on and am interested in projects that break away from the norm. I love building and working with teams of collaborative and creative hard-working people who are willing to fight for differing points of view for a better overall conclusion.
My approach to leadership is built upon the ideals of authenticity and communication around the common goal of quality of execution. This led my company Rogue Rocket to run for 5 years completely bootstrapped and to work with top tier publishers such as Microsoft, Glu Mobile, and Big Fish Games.
Outside of my career in games, I am an avid gamer on console, PC, and mobile. Lately, I've also been curious about eSports and have been playing a lot of Overwatch.
Beyond games, I have pretty healthy interests in automotive (both in performance driving, and garage mechanics), skiing, snowboarding, playing basketball (badly), quality television, and movies. I rarely have time to tend to all of these interests (and more) but am thrilled when I do.
